Update June 2024 - This young person's initiative is now closed.
Recently I have had the pleasure of helping the team at 'Compostivity' a student-run entrepreneurial company under the Young Enterprise charity branch.
They have come up with a really good initiative to get children learning more about composting and looking after our planet and I wanted to showcase them on my blog and add a link to their shop where you can buy their kits. I have bought a kit for my kids and a kit to give to their friends!
About Compostivity
Compostivity is a student-run entrepreneurial company under the Young Enterprise charity branch. We are linked by our passion and commitment to making our planet a better place. Food waste is a huge problem with 1.6bn tonnes of food going to waste each year. Our goal is to tackle this issue through our fun, educational and eco-friendly composting kits perfect for parents and children.
Our Compostivity boxes have a positive impact on you and the environment by helping you “to make our world a greener place by composting your food waste!”
Compostivity kits only use eco-friendly materials sourced from UK suppliers to reduce our carbon footprint. Every small step towards improving the environment helps and sustainability is always front of mind during production.
The eco-friendly box provides a chance for learning and an opportunity to get out of the house with your children. The kits include a sticker sheet with all your favourite fruits and vegetables, which have been designed by one of our Creation & Design directors, giving Compostivity a signature style. Compostivity creativeness is also displayed in the compost tracker which is perfect to keep kids motivated along their composting journey. Additionally, our kits include a fun-packed activity booklet with our mascots Willis and Winnette the worms helping you to complete the colouring-in sheets, word searches, a maze and more.
If that wasn’t enough to excite your kids for their composting kits, we also include two envelopes of seeds for you to plant and soil pellets. All items are packaged with eco-friendly tissue paper and enclosed in a cardboard box.
